24: Live Another Day - 10 Reasons To Be Excited For Jack Bauer's Return

7. Twelve Episodes Means More Concentrated Drama

24's usual seasons are composed of twenty-four episodes that represent the twenty-four hours in the day, but things have changed this time out with a run that has been cut in half. This limited television run will provide a more focused, concise narrative; with less episodes the show can eliminate the arbitrary plot elements and characters that provide filler content. Now with twelve hours on the clock the action and drama should prove to be more balanced, and direct. What does twelve episodes mean for a show that occurs across twenty-four hours? Well, it presumably means that the show will jump around a bit; each episode will still identify as one hour in the story world, but sometimes an hour may be skipped between episodes. In other words, twelve hours of the day will go untold by the show, but these hours are those that aren't necessarily crucial to be seen, and where nothing important to the story takes place.

Hey there, I'm Joseph, a college student, and a huge fan of a variety of nerdy stuff. Ultimately I'm a big-time Star Wars fanboy, and an avid Nintendo fan. Some of my favorite video games of all time include Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the Paper Mario series, and Metroid Prime, but I am known to greatly enjoy other games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Halo. Star Wars is my obsession, and I'm a massive Clone Wars fan and will never overcome Disney's cancellation of the series. I'm thrilled to write for What Culture, and I hope you all enjoy my articles!
