25 Best Superhero TV Shows Of All Time
3. Daredevil
Marvel's Daredevil can be described with a lot words, but masterpiece is the only one this writer feels can truly do it the justice it deserves. Kicking off the Netflix era of Marvel Television, it wasted little time in making us aware that this was not the same kind of entertainment we saw on the big screen in the MCU and it certainly wasn't for the faint of heart.
Matt Murdock's Gothic adventures spanned three seasons on the streaming service before the show was unceremoniously cancelled for no good reason, and during that time the Man Without Fear encountered The Hand, The Punisher and, most important of all, Wilson Fisk - who was brought to life by Vincent D'Onofrio in what was one of the most seductively unforgettable performances in TV history.
There was a dark splendour in Daredevil; one that you just don't find in a lot of TV shows (or films, for that matter). It was artistic in style and gripping in nature - and, when it needed to be, very very disturbing. A masterpiece in every way possible, it's the yardstick for what dark superhero origin stories should look like, taking that baton from Arrow when it so visibly started to decline and becoming television's answer to The Dark Knight trilogy - one that could very well even rival it.
