2. Richard Schiff Is Adamant Toby Ziegler Did Not Leak Classified Information... Because He Would "Never Betray The President"

In the final series of The West Wing, Communications Director Toby Ziegler is fired by President Bartlet after leaking classified information about a military space shuttle to the press.

Despite this, Richard Schiff who played Toby remains adamant this would never have happened - and that he believes his character must have been covering for somebody else because he would never have betrayed the President like that. Schiff explained:

"I was sad for the show...I hated my storyline. Toby would never in 10million years have betrayed the president in that fashion. "Even if he had, there would have been seven episodes' worth of fights before he did it... "In the end, the only way I could make sense of my story was to come up with my own story - that Toby was covering for someone else. That, at least, made sense to me."
