Warner Bros. Pictures

Who: Idris Elba, Freida Pinto, Rory Kinnear

What: A limited series set in 1970s London, this sees a couple liberate a political prisoner, and go on to form a radical underground cell that targets the Black Power Desk, a counter-intelligence unit dedicated to crushing all forms of black activism

Why: Erm, Idris Elba, what else do you need? Star quality aside (and Elba has a lot of it), the show comes from 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley, and combined with that synopsis should make for a powerful, thrilling, and racially-charged series.

Where & When: Showtime/Sky Atlantic, TBA
