When heading to meet up with his blackmailer, who turns out to be Police Chief Holloway, Paul is ambushed by Miguel and a gang of armed soldiers from Ares Security. Paul finishes them off, and thinking he's somehow made it out alive, exits the building, only for Burris to sneak out of the shadows, shoot him clean through the chest, and follow up with a fatal shot before he can reach for his gun. Cowardly, infuriating, and with the first of the four main characters being killed off, a dark lead in to the bloodbath that was the season finale. On the plus side, Paul got a highway dedicated to him at the very end of the series, so it's not all bad.
