With 202 episodes running over nine seasons between 1993 and 2002 - as well as two films - "The X-Files" franchise proved to be a huge success. And the science-fiction horror drama is being rebooted by Fox as a six-part mini-series - with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson set to reprise their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully respectively. Although little is yet known of the plot, it is expected that it will deal with UFOs and the alien invasion and colonisation of Earth that was foretold in the original series finale. X-Files fans really could not be any more excited than they already are for the return of this show. The Selling Point: It's The X-Files - it's a ready-made TV success story. The Concerns: Six episodes doesn't seem like enough for a show that had more than 20 in each of the previous series. Is it just a quick-reboot job, or has time really been spent ensuring it is as good as it was before?
