3 Reasons For And Against John Oliver Getting A Daily Show Spin-Off

3. Against: Time Slot

Comedy Central It€™s a sad thing that we have to think about television time slots, even in this golden age of online television like Hulu, but it is a sad reality. Taking that into consideration, it€™s hard to see where Oliver would slot into the Comedy Central late night lineup so that he would command an audience. CC has shows like Tosh.0 and South Park filling up the time slots before The Daily Show at 11 PM EST, when they run The Daily Show and The Colbert Report back-to-back. That would leave only post-midnight as the time that Oliver could have his own show. Like I alluded to before, that isn€™t an ideal time slot, and I€™m not sure that an Oliver-led spin-off would be successful in that late hour of television.
