30 Best Kids TV Theme Tunes Of The 1980s

20. Maxie's World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pe5cUWTy3r0 As much as it pains us to admit it, even some males growing up in the 1980s were familiar with Maxie's World. She was one of those animated characters who, as a small, naive child, you sort of had a weird and completely innocent "crush" on. Right? RIGHT?! In all seriousness, this fun but briefly-aired 1987 show had one hell of a catchy theme tune. All together now "Maxie, Maxie, a girl on the go!"

19. Pigeon Street

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lav92tfPNBg Pigeon Street represents the completely innocent television shows of old in which kids just watched people having everyday adventures in an everyday street. Can you imagine the kids of today putting up with that in a cartoon? The theme epitomises that, as the residents are introduced (in that inimitable Pigeon Street animation style) along with a jaunty, rhyming tune. Pigeon Street aired in 1981 as part of the "See-Saw" strand for pre-schoolers on the BBC.
