Another addition to the cult British sitcom pack, Red Dwarf takes all the tropes associated with the genre and flings it into space. The adventures of Dave Lister, the last known human alive, and his bizarre companions - Rimmer, Cat, Holly and Kryten - are just as synonymous with the sci-fi genre as they are with the idea of sitcoms.
More than that, though, Red Dwarf remains one of Britain's most watched and talked about shows, one which has a major place in pop culture.
It's so popular, in fact, that it has been subject to several big-budget revivals, the latest addition being a full length special called "The Promised Land", which aired earlier this year and managed to capture the wacky, weird charm of the earlier seasons.
