4 Things Big Brother Has Done Trying To Improve Viewership
2. Vote To Evict
Big Brother has traditionally favoured a format where fans get to choose who leaves the house, with narrator Marcus Bentley using the catchphrase Who goes? You decide. Channel 5 changed this when they re-launched the show in 2011, instead asking for viewers to vote for their favourites to stay. The idea was that this would keep the interesting and controversial ones in and ditch the ones no one really cared about. The vote to save format saw Big Brother 2012 winner Aaron Allard-Morgan booed when he left the house, something never seen before. But this year they have decided to go back to vote to evict. This saw controversial housemate Sallie Axl axed in the first week. Although the return to vote to evict appears to be popular; on a poll on bbspy, a Big Brother fan site, 65% of people voted that they preferred vote to evict.
