4. Snog, Marry, Avoid - 'Death'
Why 'Death?', simple, because it laughs in the face of humanity and when you watch it, you will lose your will to live. A lady, heavily caked in make-up with clear confidence issues is insulted by a feminine Robocop. The show then shows a picture of this lady to ordinary members of the male public, and asks the question 'would you snog, marry or avoid her?'. Then, the lady in question is given a make over. The question is then repeated to other members of the public, and we all live unhappily ever after. We'll just quickly overlook the dreadful word 'snog', as I see a snog as a beacon of our own past, when a snog at a disco to a song by a boy band, followed by a cheeky feel of a bum cheek left you sure you were Hugh Hefner. The show is a load of deprecating nonsensical manure that would be better used as a weapon of mass destruction rather than as an entertainment vehicle. I'm surprised the show is not part of the torturers tool kit, as I would tell them anything they want to know if they made me watch this. It's heart breaking television to behold, as it tears open clear confidence issues and then proceeds to say 'This is how you conform, isn't conformation just wonderful?'. Well no, it isn't, not in this context. To phrase Dr.Seuss 'Why fit in when you are born to stand out?' Of course, it can be argued that people actually sign up to the show, so it's their fault too. That may be correct, but more so in the context of the fact that vanity is simply a scream for attention. It deserves to ride the coattails of the horseman, because even Death probably tries to escape it.
