5 Best & 5 Worst US TV Remakes

3. Spaced There€™s an inherent problem with the idea of remaking Spaced, and that€™s the absence of director Edgar Wright. You see, as brilliantly funny as the classic sitcom is, Wright€™s relentlessly energetic style - which would later define films like Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim €“ is what made Spaced a sitcom like no other. When you then also take away the performances and writing of Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes, and instead offer up a producer credit from Hollywood hack McG, you€™ve got a severe slap in the face to all fans of great comedy. To make matters worse, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg were left furious after never being consulted or even informed directly about the remake. Simon Pegg quickly released a statement over his feelings towards the dire remake, pointing out that the process can certainly work (with particular reference to The Office US) but not by completely snubbing the original team.

€œThe show does not belong to us and, those that do own it have no obligation to include us in any future plans. You would perhaps hope though, out of basic professional respect and courtesy, we might have been consulted. €œ - Simon Pegg
While the pilot was never aired or renewed for further episodes, small clips have since surfaced on YouTube, giving us a taste of the resounding horror that would have been McG's Spaced.
