5 Little Known Reasons Why Glee is Cooler Than You Think

3. The Guest Stars Aren't As Bad As You Think

Did you know that Helen Mirren was in two episodes of Glee€ Not that I am a big fan of Helen Mirren, but that€™s someone you probably wouldn€™t expect to see appearing in Glee. In fact, she didn€™t physically appear, but lent her voice (her actual voice) as Becky Jackson's (the girl with Down syndrome) inner monologue€ which was actually a lot sweeter and funnier than it sounds. But still, Helen Mirren won an Oscar€ that€™s pretty cool that she would even want to do Glee. She can€™t have been paid that much for two voice overs€ (Her favorite character is Artie by the way). But guess what, a lot of Glee guest stars have won Oscars€ Whoopi Goldberg, Helen Mirren, Gwyneth Paltrow. Many have also won Emmy awards€ Kristen Chenoweth, NPH, Whoopi again€ In fact, the guest stars have pretty much won all of the awards you can think of (Whoopi herself has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony). Also, there have been many musical guests and not all of them have been who you might expect. Did you know Meat Loaf appeared in The Rocky Horror episode of Glee? Meat Loaf!!! (Then again, he did appear in that Spice Girls movie€ maybe he€™s not as cool as we think). And for sheer curiously reasons€ you have to watch Jeff Goldblum play one of Rachel€™s gay dad€™s€ yes, he is as awkward in that role as he always is, and it€™s both scary and hilarious. And if you can forgive her for pretty much every film she has ever been in since Almost Famous, Kate Hudson make a great edition to Glee€™s forth season. She can play a bitch pretty well€ maybe even better than Jayne Lynch herself???
