5 Lord Of The Rings TV Shows They Should Make Instead Of Young Aragorn

1. The Life Of Tolkien

Tolkien had a pretty busy life - he invented his own languages, fought in World War I, and was a semi-famous painter - as well as writing his own books, of course.

A biopic series of his life could make for a really interesting supplement to the original films, to understand how themes and elements of his life found their way into the books.

Biopics on writers always seem to be popular: Capote, Kill your Darlings, Rebel in the Rye, Shakespeare in Love are all interesting ways to explore your favourite works and their authors.

Each episode could explore a separate saga in his life, from his childhood to his marriage, to his war experiences, to his later endeavors as a writer and a painter. Throughout all of these times, we could learn the origins of the Lord of the Rings universe and how different aspects of his life influenced the fantasy world. Coming up with your own language and world is such an impressive feat, that people would love to know how he did it.

Tolkien is one of the most beloved British authors, and people would surely love to understand his previously unreported life. But whatever Amazon does with the series, they're going to have millions of fans judging their every move.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
