1. Stacey Shipman (Gavin And Stacey)
Stacey is one of the most irritable lead characters in a sitcom. Period. The second episode of Gavin & Stacey highlights this especially, as she is constructed as a whiny, insecure, over dramatic nuisance, who spends half the episode angry at Gavin over a misunderstanding. Yet for some bizarre reason, as soon as Gavin turns up at her house and she hears his voice, she jumps into his arms and starts trading saliva. I dont get it. Things get worse in the second season, as her relationship with Gavin is on the rocks... because shes a bit homesick. Now, some stuff went on behind the scenes and it was apparently decided that the recently married couple would move to Essex with Gavins parents and then look for a house. Staceys not happy with this decision and throws a tantrum because she feels like Wales was never considered as a viable living option. So she decides to cause chaos and the whole marriage is thrown into jeopardy because she cant cope being away from home. Its safe to assume she never went away to university. By the third season, she settles down... But only because theyre living in Wales. It seems that she never really cared about Gavins happiness and issued the ultimatum we either live in Wales or we get divorced. Shes a very passive aggressive, selfish character who is only ever looking out for number one, apparently.
