5. "I'll Have The Hero, Hold The Super"
Matt Murdock has superpowers - gained through the tried and tested administration of toxic waste. These powers not only compensate for his blindness (thanks again to toxic waste, which is why you should read the label on those things), they also allow him to gracefully swing from rooftop to rooftop, punching any ninjas or bad guys who dare enter Hell's Kitchen. Even with those abilities, he's severely underpowered compared to his Marvel brethren. The guy's all kinds of mortal. Punch him and he bleeds. Cut something off and it's not growing back. When Daredevil goes out for his nightly patrol, there's a real sense of risk that's rare in comic books. One wrong move and Murdock's a goner (You could say the same for Batman - but come on, he's Batman...). If there's one scene I like from the Daredevil movie, it's the one where Daredevil comes home and takes a shower after fighting a bar full of bad guys. His body is covered in scars and he pulls out a loose tooth with the weary resignation that comes from experience. That moment implies that there's only a limited amount of punishment that Matt Murdock can take before his body gives out, which is something we don't usually get with our costumed vigilantes. Daredevil doesn't need a super-villain or supernatural forces to hurt him, so there's no reason to include them. Keep it grounded in reality. Let him fight the Kingpin or hoodlums or ninjas definitely ninjas. Keep it real, keep it gritty. And never, ever replace the actor or stuntman playing Daredevil with a CGI double.
