5 Reasons Why Family Guy Is In Decline

2. The Show Has Run Its Course

It's pretty evident the show is struggling to maintain the same level of funny as the years go by. Even MacFarlane admitted he had considering canning the show years ago but chose to compete with the likes of The Simpsons and South Park in regard to cartoon longevity. Considering how a number of the recent seasons haven't come close to the entertainment and comedy shown in previous years, the decision hasn't been entirely vindicated - excluding the mass amounts of money the team will have pocketed. Over time, more and more people appear to be falling out of love with Family Guy, rather than the viewership greatly going up. Gimmicks such as Brian having died which caused public outroar - playing into MacFarlane's hands - only for Brian to return a few episodes later which then led everyone to rue what a waste of time they had made in complaining about it. More and more celebrities appear on the show and the storylines become even more controversial to raise the viewership, but by now people who were fans of the show have now given up on the franchise and won't be turned.
