5 Reasons Why Homeland Is Failing

2. Dana Brody

23 It would be a stretch to compare Dana to 24€™s Kim Bauer, the latter of which got herself into increasingly dumb scenarios seemingly for the sake of the narrative shark-jumping. At least Dana has a little more depth, being that she seems to be searching for a strong male presence in life following the departure of her father. However the same groans come flooding in when we get yet another €˜Dana scene€™ instead of something pertaining to whoever the hell we€™re trying to stop this season. Without looking it up, do any of you guys know? Because with two-season-long villain Abu Nazir out of the picture, Saul€™s only enemy appears to be his wife's acting abilities. Anyway, after spinning wildly out of control and doing her stint in rehab, Dana returns home initially stronger, but immediately reverts to the closeted one-word teenager she€™s always been. Sneaking out of the house after a bout of ignoring her mother to go and see Sam Underwood€™s Leo does nothing for us watching at home, as already the two titular characters are off doing far more interesting things. It€™s at this stage in the second episode, we€™re all thinking we€™d much rather know what the hell Brody€™s up too, instead of some half-cooked €˜now-we€™re-in-love€™ insta-romance.
