5 Reasons Jimmy Fallon Belongs On The Tonight Show (And One Reason He Might Not)

1. He Paid His Dues

Working hard, especially in the entertainment business, doesn€™t entitle you to anything (even if you might deserve it). Rather, I would argue that the fact Fallon worked his way up means that at this point in time, he is right for the job. That€™s a big difference. Fallon has a varied background in comedy: he started as a standup, moved into improv comedy, and then spent several years working on SNL as well as a (slightly ill-fated) movie career before returning to TV. It would be hard to argue against the fact that Fallon loves what he does, and that it shows in his work. He genuinely seems to enjoy all the aspects of his late night hosting duties, and when the performer enjoys the work, that only makes the audience more inclined to enjoy it as well.
