4. It's Action-Packed
This isn't perhaps as indicative of the first season where the show was finding its feet but certainly in the second and current season, there's been a solid streak of espionage and government-based action running through all proceedings, giving us a dark, obsessive and deeply paranoid edge to every action and word committed by the character. Alias. No one is going to swing through or save the world in high heels (not yet, anyway). But when you've got mass murders, political assassinations, conspiracies galore and deaths appearing from every angle, it's hard to feel bored, particularly in a show that prides itself on darkness and intrigue in the highest offices - and all the violence that comes as a result of it.
