5 Things We Learned From The New Legend Of Korra Trailer

It's looking good...

Given the fashion in which The Legend of Korra€™s Book Two ended (with Korra opening both spirit portals), many people have been wondering where the story will go in Book Three. Most information on the new installment up to this point has been largely non-existent, and has come in the form of screenshots released by the show€™s co-creators. Recently, however, and probably to make up for the leaked episodes that have been trickling out over the past week by its foreign affiliates, Nickelodeon released its official trailer for the next installment of the Legend of Korra. The trailer is completely devoid of dialogue, but does a great job showcasing what Book Three will have in store for us. With an unsettling score from Jeremy Zuckerman, new faces, and plenty of action to boot, it seems like Book Three might prove to be the best one yet. Although there were a ton of clues to what the new season will be about, we€™ve chosen to show the top five things we learned from the trailer.

5. Earth Will Play A Large Role In Book Three

The color palette and the art design seem to suggest that a large portion of Book Three will take place in the Earth Kingdom. The trailer is filled with greens and browns, and the villages shown harken back to those from Avatar: The Last Airbender€™s Book Two. We also see a regal-looking elderly lady, who appears to be the Earth Queen, and who was recently mentioned by creator Brian Konietzko. It also appears that the dreaded Dai Li, the secret Ba Sing Se police force that antagonized the Aang Gang in the original series, is back to cause trouble for Korra and her friends, as they are seen fighting with the Avatar and roughly detaining Tenzin€™s daughter, Jinora. €œMetal Bending€, a special earth-bending skill invented by Toph Bei Fong, will also play a large part in the third book. The trailer shows a shining city, completely made of metal. Given the longing and forlorn look Lin Beifong wears whilst looking out at the city, we might be able to assume that this is a city from her past. Also, we see that Korra has acquired the ability to metal-bend, becoming the first avatar in history to be able to do so.
