5 Ways To Make Your TV Show A Classic

1. Make It Worth Our While

The death of drama is predictability. Audiences are discerning and will be able to predict your every move if you play by the rules. The great thing about these shows €“ especially Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad €“ is that they keep changing their game. For example, Series 5 of Breaking Bad so far it has been a story about Walter White starting his own business which turned to a story about Mike Ehrmantraut trying to evade the law. This in turn became an epic confrontation between two brothers-in-law which will now, in its final two episodes, become something completely different. Each and every cliffhanger potentially changes the board in these shows and that is the sign of good story telling. Audiences don't want to watch something they've seen before so make it worth their while. Surprise them, disgust them even but give them what they didn't know they wanted.

So that's what I think. What do you think? Feel free to comment!
