There are some who would have you believe that The Walking Dead has less of a pulse than the flesh-eating zombies which have overrun the country. You can't deny that the show has gone downhill since the heights it hit earlier in its run. Something has changed. The cocktail of excitement mixed with dread has now been replaced by a sense of stagnation and even boredom. Online, people like to poke fun at some of the show's trivial implausibilities; how does the grass stay perfectly trimmed and why is one-legged Herschel the nominated getaway driver? Sure €“ abnormalities of this nature are good for a cheap laugh but there are irrefutably issues with the show which go deeper than whether or not the grass is a few inches on the short side...
