http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gglhv-aGCag This is a good sketch that shows Monty Python's ability to link ideas in all sorts of weird ways, as well as their willingness to break the dreaded fourth wall that many are surprisingly scared of acknowledging as a source of humour. It helps of course that the sketch itself is very funny, with great performances from Graham Chapman as the uptight straight army Colonel as well as Eric Idle and Michael Palin as the two hermits who really make the actual sketch come alive with their acting. Another good thing about it is that it shows how much trouble Python actually went to to find the right locations for its sketches to make them seem more genuine and therefore not distract from the comedy that was being told by the Pythons themselves. A simple, but really good skit.
