The Spaghetti Western was the genre of choice for discerning cinema-goers in the 1960s. It was epitomised by the Dollars trilogy starring Clint Eastwood, and Sergio Corbucci's 1966 film, Django, which told the story of an miserable drifter, motivated by money, revenge and a love of violence - all the typical hallmarks of a Quentin Tarantino flick. In 2012, the director rebooted the enigmatic anti-hero for the modern era with Jamie Foxx in the title role, playing a freed slave hell bent on rescuing his wife from a plantation owner. Think A Fistful of Dollars meets 12 Years a Slave. Django Unchained also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington. There's even a cameo from the original Django himself Franco Nero, in a clever little scene with Foxx. Look out for Django Unchained as it shoots its way onto Netflix from February 17th.
