There's a good chance you've already seen this one, as The Wolf of Wall Street was downloaded on torrents 30 million times, making it 2014's most-pirated film. Ironically, Jordan Belfort spent less time in prison than anyone who was convicted for illegally uploading it. Directed by Martin Scorsese, The Wolf of Wall Street has true Hollywood pedigree. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie, in a true rags to riches to rags story of a stockbroker turned hedonist. Paramount Pictures threw everything at this film to get some recognition, and it was nominated for five Academy Awards, but ultimately won nothing. It missed out to 12 Years a Slave in the Best Picture category, while Leonardo DiCaprio was beaten by his co-star Matthew McConaughey to the Best Actor prize (although not for the same film, of course). It's three hours long, so you could pretend it was a TV series and watch it across a week in 30-minute blocks, or you could strap in with snacks, hookers, and a dwarf and make a night of it. The Wolf of Wall Street is available now on Netflix.
