2. A Murderer Tried To Dissolve A Body In Acid After Seeing It On Breaking Bad

In late 2016, sadomasochist Stefano Brizzi invited a police officer to his London flat for a chemsex party, strangled him, and dismembered the body.

Desperate for a way to dispose of the corpse and cover up his crime, the Italian turned to TV for inspiration and attempted to dissolve it in a bathtub full of acid, as seen in the second ever episode of Breaking Bad, The Cat's Out of the Bag.

Brizzi was said to be obsessed with the AMC drug drama and this came up during his trial. The prosecution even asked him "Do you accept you were living out an episode of Breaking Bad?"

The killer, who was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 24 years and later committed suicide behind bars, did not deny that Walter White was the inspiration behind his body disposal technique.
