Since first appearing on our screens back in November 1963, the character of the Doctor has firmly established himself at the forefront of television phenomena as he's defied the odds to become the star of the longest running science fiction series to date, as well as an iconic and irreplaceable fixture within Britain's coveted cultural history. It's not surprising, then, that, throughout his now half a century on our screens, various other programmes have taken the time to honour their hero by referencing the show's iconic imagery and characters within the confines of their own fictional worlds, and it is a handful of these televisual nods to our beloved Time Lord which have been compiled in this list. While you will no doubt be already be aware of some of these, it's nice to be reminded of some of the lengths that show's have gone to in order to pay homage to one of the greatest TV icons of all time and it just goes to show that Doctor Who is a show which its fan take with them throughout all aspects of their life.
