7 Image Comics Series Crying Out For A TV Show

Okay, here's the elevator pitch for a TV series: think Game of Thrones with pop stars, set in London.

Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and Matthew Wilson's pop hit comic series following a group of teens and young adults who become classical gods modelled on modern pop stars has told a fascinating tale of intrigue, murder, sex and conspiracy. Just like Game of Thrones! But with Rihanna, David Bowie and Prince.

Also, these gods have a literal death sentence: for two years they'll be loved and worshipped for what they can do - but then they die.

A TV show could handle the fantastical elements just like the insanely successful fantasy show: sparingly. Keep the miracles small, and then when it's time for a big one, blow everyone away. The series, like the comics, should make the main focus the relationships between the gods as they continue to backstab, manipulate and sleep with each other in a twisted rise and slow fall into disaster.

The series lends itself well to world building, and just imagine how incredible the actors would look in the gods' get-ups and performances.

And WicDiv, as it is affectionately known as by its fans, has already been optioned for a TV series under the same deal we mentioned earlier for Sex Criminals, so hopefully, this one could be on screens sooner rather than later.
