7 Problems With Netflix Nobody Wants To Admit
6. Their Non-Original Offerings Are Getting Worse
While Netflix started out life as a rental service, they're really made their name in recent years due to their original productions. However, while their commitment to that is great (to a degree), it has led to a noticeable dip in their non-original offerings.
This isn't so much an issue on the TV side of things, where they still have numerous boxsets (although the differences between various regions are infuriating), but definitely seems more egregious on the movie side, where the pickings feel increasingly slim.
Just a quick glance at their 'New Releases', for example, and I'm offered the choice of Mother's Day, London Has Fallen, The Magnificent Seven (remake), or Dirty Grandpa. Which fair enough are all starry films, but it's not exactly an inspiring selection. It also feels like anytime you think of a movie you want to watch, chances are it won't be on Netflix.
Again, there's so much content that it doesn't necessarily seem like a major issue, but it's annoying when you're paying for the service, and it's something that's only likely to get worse.
