7 Reasons Why You Should Watch One-Punch Man

6. The Humor

One Punch Man
Madhouse

There are two primary sources of humor in the series: superhero cliches and Saitama's boredom. The former mocks the pathos, nobility, and honor associated with being a vigilante (and will be expanded upon in other entries) while the latter is exhibited at very serious moments, completely ruining them in the process.

For example, when Genos reveals his touching origin story, Saitama is becoming more and more agitated - he wants to do other things, like watch TV and eat crisps - so he forces his disciple to sum it up in 20 words or fewer. It's also fun to see Saitama unimpressed by his enemies, no matter how big or strong they seem. While they are extremely concerned with properly introducing themselves and their purpose, a visibly bored Saitama ends their monologues with ease by simply knocking them out with one punch.

If it wasn't for its self-awareness, the series would be a true practice in the suspension of disbelief, but because we know it's all tongue-in-cheek, we can identify and laugh at moments that would otherwise be dead-serious.
