7 Times The Arrowverse Missed The Mark

1. Wasting Rip Hunter

When DC's Legends of Tomorrow started, it seemed that it would be like Doctor Who with a twist - helped by having Doctor Who favourite Arthur Darvill leading the charge as Rip Hunter.

This enigmatic Time Master was different from heroes like Green Arrow and The Flash, in that he was a man who was desperate and whose last option was to recruit a bunch of C-list and D-list heroes and villains.

The Legends had a leader who held them together. Rip was not only the captain of the Waverider, but he was also the glue that held the team together. Somehow, he'd turned a group of unruly misfits into a well-oiled machine that had something worth fighting for.

After the decision to kill off Rip Hunter, it has often felt as though the Legends are a bunch who are commandeering a dead guy’s time ship.

Since Season Three, DC's Legends of Tomorrow has tried its best to keep the structure that it had in the earlier seasons, but it really doesn’t work without Rip being front-and-centre.

What the show has done is the opposite of Doctor Who. Instead of revolving the companions and keeping the main character of the Doctor, Legends of Tomorrow simply got rid of its Doctor entirely.

Rip should have always been the main star of the show and the Legends should have been his team.
