T'Lyn, or T'Lyns (plural), didn't have a great deal of dialogue by comparison in Dos Cerritos, but then she/they didn't need it to be the quintessence of a badass Vulcan (i.e. "… as a motherf**ker"). More stoic than her colleagues on the Sh'vhal would give her credit, the only way to tell the two T'Lyns apart — aside from the hue of the uniforms — was the decidedly brilliant 'fascinating'/'remarkable' split.

Mariner — our Mariner — fell foul of not being able to distinguish between duplicates when she ran into T'Lyn on the bridge, "talking trash" with all the familiarity as if to someone from her dimension. Hearing T'Lyn (even her alternate) — and Gabrielle Ruiz — deliver colloquialisms with such poise is a delight that will simply never get old!

"I have fooled you," the Cerritos' resident Vulcan says, rather remarkably, at the end of the episode — less 'You've been punked,' more 'You've been T'Lyn'd'. Was that a bit of Vulcan humour to go with Tuvok's "eat the Sunday/aes," or is there more switcheroo madness to come? Whatever the case may be, we can't wait to see more from either and/or both of them!

Jack Kiely is a writer with a PhD in French and almost certainly an unhealthy obsession with Star Trek.
