8 Ways Better Call Saul Can Bring Breaking Bad Characters Back

7/6. Gretchen And Elliott Schwartz

Walter White€™s frenemies, former squeeze Gretchen and college science partner (now Nobel Prize winner) Elliott, were last seen cowering in their luxurious hillside home, unwilling recipients and conveyors of Walt€™s parting gift to his family. While their exact history with Walt was never delved into - he co-founded Elliott€™s company Grey Matter and considered himself screwed out of his fair share, that's it - they served to illustrate the sort of life he might have had. While it€™s improbable that the Schwartz€™s might come face to face with Jimmy, it€™s not beyond reason that they might move in the same circles as, say, the Kettlemans, the half-assed white-collar embezzlers whom Jimmy still seeks to represent. As county treasurer, Craig Kettleman, and his wife Betsy, could quite plausibly encounter Gretchen and Elliott at a fundraiser; after all, the latter are famed for their philanthropic gestures. That€™s if the former can somehow avoid prison. While it€™s hard to think what role, if any, the Schwartz€™s could have to play in the overall narrative of Better Call Saul, a cameo would certainly be a nice nod to the broader world of ABQ. Failing that, they could brush shoulders with Jimmy during a trip to Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill. They might not need their services now, but give it half a decade (and $9 million of Walt€™s unlaundered drug money). After all, they have a trust fund to establish... Who knows, Jimmy could catch them on his return.
