8 Bad Pilots Of Good TV Shows

7. Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The Office Pilot
Lucasfilm

Technically speaking, the pilot of this Cartoon Network Star Wars series is not the first episode that aired, but instead the spinoff theatrical film which Lucasfilm released. The film, also called Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is often considered by fans to be the worst theatrically released Star Wars movie, which, if you've seen the prequels, is saying something.

Rather than having any narrative structure, the film comes across as four or five episodes of the cartoon sloppily edited together, which it is. Ashoka Tano, the new main character created specifically for the series, comes across as an annoying teenager, and only loyal (or stubborn) fans who look past this cynical cash grab of a movie get to see her, and the show, grow into something far better.
