3. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) - Once Upon A Time
Sporting a leather jacket, a devil-may-care attitude and an even more badass profession (bounty hunter), Emma Swan comes off like a female James Dean when she arrives in the secretly enchanted town of Storybrooke.
Another analogy might be that of a rugged cowboy whose arrival to a lawless town marks the start of a new chapter. Storybrooke isn’t lawless but it is askew in a strange way: Its residents previously lived in a magical kingdom and inhabited fairytale characters (Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, the Mad Hatter, etc) of which they have no memories.
Emma is the daughter to the school teacher (Gennifer Godwin) in the fairytale universe, the birth mother to Henry in our universe, and a thorn to the mayor’s (Lana Parrilla) side in both universes. Although, she is technically on the side of the law as the interim sheriff, she rarely has the cooperation of the mayor and generally goes rogue. It’s eventually her outsider’s perspective and keen detective skills that save the townsfolk from their spell.
