8 Most Bizarrely Ridiculous Cameos In TV History

3. The Harlem Globetrotters €“ Gilligan's Island (1981)

The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island was a made-for-TV movie that reunited the cast of Gilligan's Island for the third time since the show went off the air in 1967, The entire premise and execution reeks of ridiculousness. The former castaways own and operate the vacation resort "The Castaways." After some plane trouble The Harlem Globetrotters are forced to land on the island where they are eventually welcomed by Gilligan and The Skipper. On a weird sub-plot, a corporate raider has a plan to swindle the owners of The Castaways (Gilligan and his friends) into signing over ownership to him. This leads to an odd basketball game between the Globetrotters and a team of robots. If this sounds nonsensical, that's because it absolutely is. At least we got to see Mary Ann and Ginger in cheerleader outfits, but it can't quite patch up what in the blue hell has to happen plot-wise for the world's premiere exhibition basketball team to go head-to-head with a team of robots for the ownership of a holiday spot. Sometimes, I guess it's best to not think about it.
