8 Game Of Thrones Actors Who Originally Auditioned For Different Roles

Davos Seaworth has become a firm fan-favourite over the years, thanks to his position as a moral compass, his relationship with key players Jon and Stannis, his sense of humour, and his booming Geordie accent (despite the fact that Liam Cunningham comes from Northern Ireland, and no one else from King's Landing speaks like a Geordie).

Who knows what accent we might've had instead because, although Cunningham revealed to GQ this year that he auditioned for a different part, he won't say who it was.

He did reveal that it was for a Season 1 character though, which means there are a couple who fit: he might've went for Ser Barristan Selmy or Lord Commander Jeor Mormont, though he's perhaps a little young. for either More likely is that it was Jero's son, Jorah, which ultimately went to Iain Glen (the two actors are around the same age). Glen makes for an excellent Jorah, Cunningham a superb Davos, so once again they nailed their picks and we can be thankful this didn't happen.
