What it was: If you think that nothing is as heartbreaking as a season one cancellation, go ahead and ask the fans of NBC's Revolution. Once a show has been gifted with the ever elusive second season renewal, viewers are given a false sense of security that will often come back to bite them. A second season usually means the worst is over, and fans can rest easy in the knowledge that their program will last well into its fifth or sixth year. You are given more time to bond with the characters and immerse yourself in the plot, which often causes the once casual viewer to become a die-hard fan. Unfortunately, the post-apocalyptic drama Revolution would never live to see its third season, much less its fifth. Where it went wrong: With its inability to pull the necessary ratings, it's really no surprise that Revolution met its untimely demise. The real fault here can be attributed to the writers themselves, who were so confident in a season 3 renewal that they failed to prepare for a premature cancellation. This, of course, was an overestimation of just how well received the shows sophomore season would really end up being. Though Revolution certainly had its faults, the shows finale was underwhelming, to say the least, and an injustice to those who stuck with it till the end. Fans of the NBC drama deserved at least a small amount of closure, if nothing else.
