The story of the main character, Yoon Jong-woo, was bound to end with murder and death, but no one would have expected that it would be Jong-woo himself who would kill his creepy neighbors.

Well, to be fair, the show was building up to this moment, leaving plenty of clues as to why Jong-woo would become an unhinged killer. We see how much Jong-woo is struggling with his past and how nobody in the present seems to treat his concerns seriously.

This is why Jong-woo ultimately falls for Moon-jo's brainwashing, and why he ends up killing the psychotic dentist along with his neighbors. The show pulls off an incredible twist by revealing it was the protagonist that was the killer, all while delivering an important but disturbing message.
