8 Insane Gritty Reboots That Would Improve Classic TV Shows

5. Dennis The Menace

Dennisthemenace George Wilson is just you're average suburban guy. He means nobody any harm, he minds his own business and all he wants to do is just live his everyday life. He's a kindly sort of chap. Some might even call him boring. He spent his entire life working for the US postal service and now all he wants to do is mow his lawn in peace. But he's friendly enough. It's perhaps because of this very reason €“ combined with his sheltered and buttoned down existence devoid so far of any major upsets €“ that he could be considered naïve, an easy touch. Someone without the seasoned eye taken for granted by denizens of rougher patches of ground in this life. It is just this very ordinary, very decent outlook on a world long gone mad that proves to be Mr Wilson's downfall, and it all begins from the day a new, big-city family move into his quiet neighbourhood. Sure, they all seem normal enough €“ quite a pleasant young couple with a small child. But my oh my, does that boy seem to be full of beans. The Mitchells really are a nice bunch of folks but they go mighty quiet when anyone asks why they moved to somewhere so remote. There are rumours that little Dennis got taken out of school, and if asked why they change the subject pretty damn fast. That boy seems to have taken a liking to Wilson, to the point where it's just not entirely comfortable for the old man. It's like the kid is some kind of potential cat burglar. I mean, he's sure the boy was just lonely, having found himself in a strange town, but still, it sure was pretty weird finding him in the lounge. The old man always meant to ask his parents how he managed to get in but never managed to do so after he went missing and his car caught fire. Just what happened to sweet old Mr Wilson? Like all the neighbours are saying, there's something not quite right about that boy or the Mitchell's discomfort towards discussing their past. Then there is that rumour about a school fire somewhere up north and a basement full of dead bodies, the only survivor living long enough to say "That boy is a menace..."
