8 Most Puzzling Moments In The Obi-Wan Kenobi Premiere

Again, all respect and props to Ewan McGregor for his stellar work in the series so far. His facial expressions upon finding out that Anakin is still alive perfectly sold Obi-Wan's disbelief and heartbreak.

Unfortunately, it doesn't change the fact that Obi-Wan really should have figured this out already.

Revenge of the Sith made it clear that Obi-Wan knows that Anakin Skywalker and Lord Vader are one and the same - he saw Palpatine anointing Anakin as Vader on-camera. And if Obi-Wan knows about the Inquisitors - which we know he does when he explains who they are to Leia - it is inconceivable that he hasn't heard about the man who runs them.

Star Wars lore depicts Darth Vader as one of the most famous men in the galaxy, second only to the Emperor himself. Even living in a cave on Tatooine, it beggars belief that Obi-Wan wouldn't have heard his name at some point and put two and two together.

Again, if you're a casual fan then you likely enjoyed this scene in blissful ignorance. But for those more familiar with the Star Wars universe, it was another example of the show straining against the established canon.

Our advice? To fully enjoy the show, take a leaf out of Yoda's book and unlearn what you have learned.
