8 Reasons Now Is The Perfect Time To Revive Twin Peaks

1. The Series Finale Deserves Answers

Audiences either loved or hated the series finale; it was either lauded for its bold, dark ending (Cooper becoming possessed by Bob is a terrifying moment) or any mention of it makes fan's blood boil. After all, it wasn't just the fate of Cooper and poor Annie that hung in the air; many character's lives hung in the balance at the end of the second season. Where shall we start? Andrew Packard, Pete Martell and Audrey Horne were all in the bank when it exploded. Had there been a season three Audrey was touted to have survived but considering the series cancellation we'll never know. Bobby and Shelley seemed destined to live out their lives together, depending on whether Leo survived the spider trap. Ben Horne might also have met his maker during the struggle at Donna's home, where she discovered she was his secret daughter. All the while, she was waiting for the disappearing James Hurley to come back for her. As I mentioned earlier there are still many mysteries about the supernatural presence in Twin Peaks. That, along with Cooper's, Annie, Audrey's, Pete's and Ben's fates mean there's plenty of questions still to be answered and with a 20 year creative break, why not give us audiences the answers now? David Lynch obviously had more to tell; not just in whatever plans he had for a third season but in the two follow up TV movies to Twin Peaks: Fire Walks With Me, which would have continued the story had that prequel not bombed so badly. Aren't you just dying to find out what those stories are? Do you agree? Should Twin Peaks return to our screens or should be left as a distant fond memory. Please let me know in the comments below!
