8 Reasons The Seinfeld Superbowl Reunion Just Didn't Work
3. We Already HAD A Reunion (A Good One, Too)
The whole of season seven of Larry David's sister show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, was dedicated to reuniting Seinfeld and the others. Estelle Costanza, Newman and Kenny Bania even briefly appeared to join the fun. The plot of the reunion (within the reunion) was George trying to get back on his feet after being scammed out of the millions he made from inventing the iToilet (based on an idea skill he claims to have acquired during the show), and now wants to marry his ex-girlfriend who had shares in the iToilet and kept them for himself before Bernie Madoff could take it away from her. Unfortunately, the girlfriend wants a pre-nup, so George is marrying a woman who has half of his money so he can keep half of his money that wouldn't be his if he didn't get married. Does that make sense to you? Regardless, it wasn't just a reunion, it was a chance to see the warped Curb-versions of the cast, which made it even more funny, and it seemed like the perfect way to see the Seinfeld universe off. You want more of the cast together? Get them on Curb Your Enthusiasm again and let it be.
