TV is the hardest medium of storytelling to pace correctly. This show makes it look easy.

The show knows exactly when to speed up and slow down. It mixes in fascinating character studies with fast paced fights and set pieces. It's always aware of when it needs to takes minute to rest; season 2 episode 5 is a great example of this. It's an episode set in one location, where the main focus is on where the characters are now compared to where they were 15 years prior

The creative team behind the show know what stories pair together, and what characters offset each other well. There are so many narrative shifts and changes of pace, but it all feels very smooth. It's a masterful example of how to pace a show.
