For a spell, ABC's Boy Meets World was one of the most popular shows on TV. Centred on Ben Savage's Cory Matthews, Rider Strong's Shawn Hunter and Danielle Fishel's Topanga Lawrence, this coming-of-age series was a staple of many a person's weekly viewing habits between 1993 and 2000.

One of Boys Meets World's most beloved supporting characters, was Mr Turner. Played by Anthony Tyler Quinn, Jonathan Turner was the cool teacher we all wish we had during our school days. Not just that, but Mr Turner was such a stand-up dude that he would even go on to foster Shawn for a spell.

The last time that Mr Turner was seen in Boys Meets World was in the fourth season, where he was in a hospital bed, battling for his life after suffering horrendous injuries after a motorcycle crash.

Skip ahead to 2014 and the character would turn up in spin-off show, Girl Meets World, confirming that he had survived his ordeal and actually went on to marry one of the nurses who had looked after him.

The mystery behind Mr Turner's fate had actually been revealed way, way before Girl Meets World, but many completely missed it. In the final episode of Boy Meets World's fifth year, the brief return of Lee Norris' Stuart Minkus saw that character call out to an off-screen, unseen Mr Turner - confirming that Jonny T had indeed made it out alive from his hospital stay.
