8 TV Shows That Were Terrible (But We Couldn’t Stop Watching)
4. 2 Broke Girls
Debuting back in 2011, 2 Broke Girls averaged over 11million viewers for its first season, and remained reasonably consistent throughout its run (in terms of viewership), with the average not dipping below 7m over six years.
That's particularly impressive given, well, the show is a bit rubbish. Most network sitcoms can be accused of being far too broad in their humour, which 2 Broke Girls was guilty of. They can also be accused of having annoying protagonists, which again, check.
But what pushes 2 Broke Girls further down the pecking order more-so than some of its competitors is just how lazy, one-note, and stereotypical it can often be, and just how much its comedy relies on boobs. Now, boobs aren't a bad thing, but it'd be nice for a TV show to have some actual personality and charm alongside putting Kat Dennings' chest on display (or any other number of 'crude' jokes that simply fall flat), something 2 Broke Girls rarely managed. 7 million viewers, and almost all of them clearly just horny dads.
