3. The Pink Ranger Died In Power Rangers Because Actress Valerie Vernon Collapsed On-Set
Like most kid shows, the Power Rangers - though it looks cool and is filled with monsters and explosions - doesn't really contain any threat. Characters don't really get hurt or seriously injured, nor does anything really have any permanency.
This changed, however, when the Pink Ranger Kendrix Morgan became the first Power Ranger in history to actually die. In the show, she sacrifices herself to save Terra Venture.
The reason? Actress Valerie Vernon was diagnosed with leukaemia, meaning she had to spend an extensive amount of time receiving treatment. Rather than have her character randomly disappear, the writers decided it would be fitting for the character to sacrifice herself.
