8 Unusual Demands Made By Guest Stars On Rick And Morty
3. Danny Trejo Wanted To Keep His Bad Boy Persona
Susan Sarandon wasn’t the only lucky celeb to feature on the iconic Pickle Rick episode. Another star to make his debut on Rick and Morty is a well-known hardass Danny Trejo. In the series, he voices the character Jaguar. Jaguar is a typical MO for Trejo, as he is a criminal who has been kept in prison. This bad boy character has a soft side to him and actually happens to be close friends with Rick.
When he’s not playing the head of a cartel runner in Breaking Bad, Trejo is usually playing a slightly comedic role, featuring on shows such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine. This role was far from unusual for the actor and the writers of the show were happy to accept his request of keeping up the badass persona. The character has the perfect Trejo balance of villain and softy.
In the episode, Jaguar takes a similar appearance to his voice actor and is a serious threat to Pickle Rick. In exchange for the release of his daughter, the assassin accepts the mission of killing Pickle Rick. The whole drama ends with two besties and a dangerous team who ultimately take down the puppeteers behind the whole scheme and free his daughter.
