8 Ways Westworld Is Basically A Video Game
2. Developers
Westworld doesn’t limit itself to just mirroring video games in the theme park. Throughout, the show reflects real issues that occur in game development and the stumbling blocks that developers often encounter.
We see the complicated dynamics at play when the creatives, the storytellers and the technical thinkers must come together to create a functioning, profitable product. They spend much of their time blaming each other and rarely come to an agreement.
Not only do we see the troubles within the team but the overhanging issue of money and dealing with publisher (in this case the board of directors). They have deadlines to meet and budgets to cut. This puts everyone under an extreme amount of pressure but it doesn’t stop the characters often taking time out to marvel at what they’ve created.
